Nuclear stress testing – a very safe procedure – involves the injection of a small amount of radioactive tracer material into your bloodstream. After the material has been injected and given time to circulate to your heart, a special camera takes pictures which reveal any area(s) in the heart that may not be receiving enough blood.

This procedure is more accurate than EKGs and is essentially non-invasive. The materials used in this procedure, such as Myoview and Thallium, have been proven to be safe and have virtually no side effects. In fact, this procedure has become a universally accepted alternative to other, more aggressive – and sometimes less accurate – heart-testing procedures.
